WHAT WOULD YOU SAY: Should Christians Vote?

You may find this hard to believe but there are those in America who contend that Christians should keep their religious faith and the moral values that follow therefrom as far away from the public square as possible.

(The same sort of folks also often proclaim with great intensity that it is absolutely appropriate their beliefs should shape their particular roles in the public square, but that sort of hypocrisy is a topic for another HillFaith post.)

In the following 4:12 video from the Colson Center’s “What Would You Say” series addresses the question of how important Christians should view their responsibilities as citizens in this Republic known as the United States.

This is an important issue because, on the one hand, Jesus Christ made clear there are things in which government has no role whatsoever, but He also made it equally clear that Christians are to take care of their public duties.

In a Republic like ours, that means first and foremost following the course of things in government on a regular basis to ensure that we have the knowledge and insight required to cast informed votes for those we choose to govern us.
