WHAT WOULD YOU SAY? What American Christians Must Understand About Elections
(45-SECOND READ/WATCH) — Donald Trump won a sweeping victory Tuesday, which means he will go down in history as America’s 45th and 47th president. Trump did so despite unprecedented obstacles thrown in his path from legions of people and institutions who fear and hate him, and despite his own significant foibles and weaknesses.
But what if Vice-President Kamala Harris had won instead and become the first woman ever elected to the nation’s highest office? She would have achieved such a significant accomplishment despite having to defend an unpopular incumbent administration, the confusion and disorientation produced by the manner of her becoming her party’s nominee and much else.
But no matter had Trump or Harris won the presidential election of 2024, the single most important fact of all history would remain exactly the same, as explained in the following 30-second “What Would You Say? video from the faithful folks at the Colson Center:
Pretty much all Christians understand this. The real issue regarding this election was, “What as Christians do we stand for morally?”. And, “Which candidates support through their policies, those moral principles that most closely align with God’s word?” In many cases, it is a mixed bag. But in one principle, that of life, it sharply contrasted between the two parties. As followers of Christ and given a choice (which we have) to make a difference, we are obligated to choose (vote) our conscience in Christ according to His word. To sit on the sidelines and make no choice is to allow evil to increase.
