CONSIDER THIS: About Those Claims Christ and Christianity Are Rip-Offs Of Prior Pagan Religions

Christmas is coming, so odds are good we will be hearing critics of Christianity making claims that multiple pagan gods that pre-dated the alleged birth of Jesus Christ on December 25 were actually born on that same day. Dan Brown’s “DaVinci Code” is often the source for such claims.

Based on such materials, the critics this claim that Christians “stole” the date for the Christmas holiday from one or more of those pagan gods. As Eric Lyons of Apologetics Press points out, however, those same critics are unable to point to a single verse in the New Testament accounts of Jesus’ birth that indicate it was on December 25 or instructing ancient believers to put up their Christmas trees for that date.

Lyons goes on to deal with other Christmas-related myths sown in recent decades by critics, especially those known as the “New Atheists” such as Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins. As Lyons documents in the following 12:18 video, the myth-makers are the critics:
