CONTRADICTIONS: Did You Know You Aren’t Supposed to Exist?

That’s quite a gulf between two opposing viewpoints!

(4:04 VIEWING) — What would you say if some guy walks up to in the hall in the Dirksen building and tells you that you don’t really exist, you just imagine that you do? You’d probably keep walking and try to lose the guy, right?

But his question is based on a fact, namely, that scientific materialism, which is the modern basis of atheism, cannot explain how what began as non-conscious, inanimate stuff – i.e. matter – somehow transitioned to fully conscious, sentient beings.

Think about it: Consciousness embodies will. Will requires a willer. And a willer requires a willer maker. How’s that for Layman’s Philosophy of Origins! No mind, no meaning, no purpose. That pretty much wraps the universe according to atheism.

But check out the following 4:04 video from the folks at Testify Apologetics. They do a much more creative and interesting job of presenting this discussion. Give it a watch and listen, then share your thoughts,  pro and con, in the comments.

And don’t miss how Testify deals with the old familiar bugaboo, the God of the Gaps claim. It’s masterful.

BTW, the “Contradiction” mentioned in the headline above refers in this particular post to the utter contrast between atheism and theism:

No one knows how an immaterial entity can be conscious either. What we know is that there are conscious immaterial entities, viz. God, and there are conscious material entities, e.g. cats and dogs.
We can, at least, explain a great deal of human cognition as neurocomputation.
