HILL STAFF VIEWS: NFL’s Anti-Trust Exemption Could Be In Serious Jeopardy
(QUICK READ) — National Football League (NFL) Commissioner Roger Goodell, are you listening? A majority, 53 percent, of congressional aides responding to a recent CNCT Capitol Pulse survey said they agree Congress should reconsider the organization’s anti-trust exemption.
Among Democratic aides, 64 percent of those responding said yes, the NFL’s anti-trust exemption should be reconsidered, compared with only 42.5 percent among Republican staffers.
Interestingly, 50 percent of GOP aides over the age of 30 years said they would back such a reconsideration, meaning if a straight up-or-down vote was held on the issue in the House today, the NFL’s exemption might well be in jeopardy.

Another notable fact is the similarity in voting “Unsure” among the two major political parties. The Republicans had 22.5 percent of their voting staffers, compared with 22 percent of Democrats who did so.
In addition, GOP senior aides came in with 58 percent of them saying the whole project should be shutdown, compared to 50 percent of GOP aides over the age of 30 who side with the senior aides.
And among Senate GOP Seniors , identical 50 percent Yes votes were cast by Republican Senate staffers generally, as well as 50 percent among GOP staffers age 30 and over.
