EASTER ISSUES 2025: Is The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Fact Or Fiction?

(7 MINUTE WATCH) — Easter is a mere 13 days away and the issue that makes this holiday the most important in all of human history remains – No reputable scholar questions the fact that Jesus was crucified dead and buried. But even today, despite rising mountains of evidence, there are skeptics who question whether Jesus was literally resurrected from the grave.

Why should anybody care? Quite simply, because, as Paul wrote 2,000 years ago in his first letter to the Corinthian church, if Jesus was not literally resurrected, then we Christians who believe He was are the most foolish of people.

And even more to the point, as Paul told the Romans in another of his 13 letters that are included in the New Testament, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Being saved means spending eternity in Heaven with Jesus. Not being saved means you don’t.

So this matter of what you believe about the Resurrection of Jesus is of central importance to every man and woman, whether it is realized or not. Is there actual evidence for the resurrection? Is it logical to conclude that it actually happened?

N.T. Wright is an Oxford University historian of great repute. Daniel Bonevac is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Texas in Austin. In the following 7:00 minute clip from the Veritas Forum, Wright and Bonevac offer a strongly evidenced base common sense approach to answering the question:
