(8:33 VIEWING) — Preston Troutt’s life is among the most amazing journeys to faith you are likely ever to hear about, and yet in so many ways, it is typical of the way countless American Christians come to know the Lord.

Here’s how I Am Second describes Troutt:

“Preston Troutt had it all. Amazing parents, a bright future in basketball and the world at his feet… Until it wasn’t. When his basketball career ended due to multiple injuries, Preston found himself questioning who he was.

“He looked to drugs, relationships and entrepreneurial success for his identity, but continued to feel empty when whose options fell apart. Preston’s dad and small group leaders poured into him for years.

“Praying for him, walking beside him and pointing him toward something deeper. But eventually, Preston had to decide what he truly believed for himself. When everything else fell away, was his faith really the foundation of this life?”
